You’ll be in bike heaven from the word go at the 29th annual bike event. The 2016 Bike Virginia Weekend Bike Routes Rock!
On Friday June 24 we kick off our bike ride in Woodstock Virginia. On that day you’ll enjoy our signature Friday ride which is just long enough to shake off the work-week, put you in vacation mood, and to get your legs ready for the next 5 days of riding.
Riding begins at 12pm. Camp and registration open at 10am. We offer a super laid back vibe where you can arrive at your leisure and ride at your own pace. That’s our specialty, letting you ride as you wish without the hassles of many other events.
Below are details of our Bike Virginia 2016 routes for the first 3 days of our 6 day bike riding event. Friday through Sunday is part of our Weekend Escape package and our 6 day bike event.
Friday June 24 Bike Virginia Routes- 35 Miles
We will start the 2016 Bike Virginia tour with a beautiful 35 mile ride through the valley south of Woodstock and head to the charming scenic Shenandoah Caverns. Along the way you will ride by the famous Rt. 11 Potato Chips Store which offers great Snacking for your ride!
The 2016 weekend bike routes are just the beginning of the 6 day fun.
The comfort station rest stop will be held at the American Celebration on Parade. There you can see 20 massive, full-size parade floats from Presidential Inaugurals, Tournament of Roses and other national celebrations. The former owner of Shenandoah Caverns began decorating for Presidential Inaugurals in 1949 for President Truman, and they have decorated for each inaugural since. At American Celebration you get to experience full size floats up close. Plan to stay and tour the exhibit for a while. See a great video about the facility on the Shenandoah Cavern’s Facebook Page.
Where you’re there you might like to make your reservations for a return visit to the caverns.
From there we will start heading back north as we make our way through scenic rural landscapes that are just waiting for you to explore. In addition to the 35-mile main route we are also working on a shorter option for those looking to just stretch their legs a little after traveling to the tour, stay tuned for details on that option.

The charming town of Strasburg, Virginia hosts our first Bike Virginia comfort station rest stop for the day and they are rolling out the red carpet for you.
