In June 2013 Bike Virginia awarded a grant to Berryville Government officials to start a town hall bike share program. Funds were awarded as part of the Sunrise Grant Program, our giving back initiative that supports bicycling initiatives in the communities our tour visits.
The funds that were awarded to Berryville were used to purchase a bike and accessories in conjunction with funds raised through other activities.

The bike share program has been very successful with employees of all types in the government center enjoying the bike for exercise, errand running, and attending meetings around Berryville. Town Planner Christy Dunkle described the program as widely popular and encouraging to people that might not otherwise ride.
The hybrid bike offers an easy ride, a big basket on the front and a frame that will fit almost any rider. If you’d like more details on starting a program like this please contact Bike Virginia. More funds will be offered in 2013.
