New and Improved Features at the Bike Virginia Tour for 2013
More Riding!
Bike Virginia Tour 2013 riders can kick off their two-wheeled vacation on Friday June 21, bringing the event total to 6 days of beautiful rural road riding and exploration. Look for multiple route options on most days. Take your time to explore or challenge yourself, it’s up to you. The Bike Virginia Tour is a great tour for bicycle riders of all types and their families. Visit our Ride Section for updates on route planning.
1,600 Riders
We’ve listened to our rider requests and are reducing our event size by 400. This year we’ll cap our participation at 1,600 while keeping our services and amenities at the same level as we did for 2,000. You’ll get better service and enjoy the ride even more than before.
Hotels Made Easy
Use our hotel booking service to manage all your lodging needs. We’ve taken a giant step forward to give hotel guests a greatly improved experience for room booking and shuttle transportation. Read more…
Food Galore
This year we are offering an all inclusive meals option that includes 15 catered meals conveniently located at headquarters. There will be one premium rest stop per day offering a regional or cyclists favorite treat in addition to standard rest stop fare. Century riders will also be able to purchase a supplemental rest stop meal for the longest routes. You won’t go hungry, that’s for certain. Learn more about food here..
Eat and Greet Events Every Evening
We’ll kick off the tour with an Eat and Greet Party for everyone at headquarters on Friday night. It’s a great time to hear all about the tour and connect with friends, old and new. Saturday through Tuesday we will continue to offer our evening entertainment, route “wrap” and social. These evening entertainments are open to everyone. You’ll even be able to take part in onsite dinners. The dinners are available as part of the All Inclusive Meals plan.
Camp Supreme
Bike Virginia 2013 will camp in parks, venues that offer space for onsite entertainment and other new features such as onsite beer and wine gardens. There’s ample onsite parking this year too!
We look forward to seeing you on the Bike Virginia Tour 2013! It’s so much more than a bike ride.
