2012 Meal Plan Menus: Breakfast and Dinner 150 150 BIKE VIRGINIA

To help you have convenient meals during the tour we organize meal plans. Participants can buy a breakfast plan (5 meals for $60) and a dinner plan (3 meals for $60)to supplement your registration. Lunch is included with registration for each day that you have signed up to ride (and for non-rider registrants). The deadline for buying meal plans is May 23, 2012.

NOTE: ****NO MEAL PLANS WILL BE SOLD ON SITE AT THE EVENT****

Breakfast Plan

Breakfast is a critical meal for having a good ride. Start your day off right with our breakfast plan. The 2012 breakfasts will be conveniently served in the cafeteria at headquarters from 5:30am-8:30am. We use a professional catering company to provide you with nutritional and filling rider’s breakfasts. Breakfast requires a wrist band identifying you as breakfast plan participant. Note, we upgraded our breakfasts in 2011, no more high school cafeteria food!

Daily Menu

Coffee, Hot Tea, Orange & Apple Juices, Granola Cereal w/Milk. Cut Fruit:  Pineapple, Cantaloupe, Honeydew, & Strawberries, Oatmeal, Cheddar Cheese Grits, Biscuits & Sausage Gravy,  Whole Fruit Assortment:  Bananas, Apples, & Oranges

Daily rotating sides & entrees

Hickory-Smoked Bacon, Link Sausage, & Canadian Bacon, Sliced Pit Ham w/Biscuits, Raspberry Scones, Coffee Cake, Cinnamon Rolls, Assorted Fruit Muffins, Waffles w/Butter & Syrup, Freshly Scrambled Eggs Denvor w/Sweet Peppers & Onions, Ciabatta Egg Sandwiches w/Canadian Bacon & Cheddar, (Vegetarian: Fried Egg & Cheddar), Individual Egg Stratas w/Diced Tomato, Onion, Sausage, & Pepper Jack Cheese or Diced Tomato, Sweet Pepper, Onion, & Pepper Jack, Boiled Eggs, Ricotta-Cheese Blintz w/Cherry Topping, Hash Brown Casserole, Individual Fruit Yogurts, Bagels w/Cream Cheese & Peanut Butter

Dinner Plan

The tour visits many small to mid size communities and eating in local eateries can be fun and interesting. However some of you just like for us to take care of all the details so that’s what we offer in our Dinner Plan. We organize 3 catered dinners to be served near our evening entertainment during the tour. For $60 you’ll enjoy the convenience of knowing that you will be able to get food without long waits on Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday evenings. Dinner is served from 5:30pm-8:30pm and requires a wrist band identifying you as dinner plan participant. Monday is dine on your own night, we offer shuttles to 2 communities that night, and will provide some food vending on site at the school/headquarters.

Saturday Dinner

On Saturday night our dinner will be served in Downtown Berryville, the hotbed of Bike Virginia activity for the evening. You’ll be right next door to the Furnace Mountain Concert in the park, the beer and wine tent, and near our special Birthday Ice-Cream stand.

For dinner you will enjoy pit cooked, real wood smoked, Virginia barbecue pork and barbecue chicken, fresh corn on the cob and homemade baked beans with a brownie for desert. You won’t be disappointed in this 20-year Clarke County icon’s dinner.

Sunday Dinner

Sunday’s Dinner will be at Shepherd University, right in town where our evening dance party will be taking place. Fill up on some hearty food then head on over for square dance lessons! If you prefer a more low key dinner, you’ll be able to hang out at Shepherd for live music in the dining hall. Shepherd University will a buffet with 6 points of service including the Shepherd Grille (burgers, fries, hot dogs, etc), the Homestyle Market (comfort foods such as chicken, ribs, rice, vegetables), Piazza Place (pizza and pasta), the Shepway Deli, Entrée-tainment (cooked to order such as buffalo chicken wraps or stir fry), and a full Salad Bar as well as desserts, beverages including coffee, and ice cream.

Tuesday Dinner

Historic Harpers Ferry is home of our Tuesday dinner and entertainment. You’ll dine by the water, a short walk from the cobblestone streets, and the evening’s musical festivities.

Dinner will include field greens w/vegetables & dressings, tropical fruit salad, greek pasta salad w/feta vinaigrette, jumbo ricotta shells marinara & mozzarella (vegetarian), breast of chicken madeira mushroom sauce w/long grain & wild rice, twice baked potatoes w/cheddar sugar snap peas, honey glazed carrots, fresh yeast rolls w/butter, Coffee, Iced Tea, Lemonade
